This training is designed to:
Provide updated legal developments on immigration consequences in criminal proceedings, including
-Defense counsel’s legal responsibilities, including a checklist
-Tools to analyze the legal consequences
-Ethical consideration for non-citizen clients
-Interviewing challenges and determining your client’s status
-Presenting your case to the prosecutor

Provide updated procedures for appointment of Padilla counsel in all court-appointed criminal proceedings
-New Immigrant questionnaire
-New Attorney Authorization Forms (Authorization amount increased from $150 to $250)
-New list of Padilla counsel available to court appointed counsel
-New list of Bay Area resources

New laws including but not limited to 1473.7 and all procedures related for court appointed counsel in criminal case
