6/16/2021 - Traps for the Unwary: Workers' Compensation
This session provides a basic overview of Worker's Compensation benefits and goes over the hearings process for a Worker's Compensation appeal, as well as common mistakes that can cause an adverse result.
The purpose of this program is to provide an overview for a practitioner unfamiliar with Worker's Compensation benefits and appeals. The program touches on issues that commonly arise in the hearing process such as attorney's fees, independent medical examination evidence, and lump sum settlements.
This program is part of the "Traps for the Unwary" CLE series organized by the New Lawyers Committee of the New Hampshire Bar Association. "Traps for the Unwary" is a publication of the New Lawyers Committee, which was recently updated in 2020. This seventh edition of "Traps for the Unwary" attempts to identify some of the "traps" into which both new and experienced lawyers may fall and to offer guidance on how to address those issues.
Who Should Attend? This program is targeted to attorneys that are newer to practice in New Hampshire or are new to this area of law.
