Motions are the lifeblood of nearly every lawsuit. Whether to file a particular motion calls for a combination of legal strategy, judgment, and drafting skill. The same is true of Objections to Motions. A diverse panel discusses the fundamentals of motion practice, including motions to dismiss, to compel discovery, for sanctions, and for summary judgment.

This "nuts-and-bolts" seminar covers motion practice in state court.

Most cases do not go to trial, but nearly every case involves one or more motions. The panel, consisting of experienced practitioners, a Superior Court judge, and a Clerk of Court, focuses on what motion(s) to file, when to do so, how to comply with the applicable court rules, when to request a hearing, the use of technology, and other issues that frequently arise.

    Who Should Attend this Program?
This seminar will be useful to any practitioner whose practice involves handling lawsuits, whether regularly or only occasionally. It will be beneficial both to lawyers in their early years of practice and to those with many years of experience.
